Silicone rubber seal ring was introduced as a kind of high active adsorption material. Silica gel is a kind of highly active adsorption material, which usually contains sodium silicate and sulfuric acid. It is made by a series of post-treatment processes, such as aging and acid bubble. Silica gel is an amorphous substance, insoluble in water and any solvent, non-toxic and tasteless, stable in chemical properties, and does not react with any substance other than strong base and hydrofluoric acid. Therefore, for some medical silicone rubber seals only certified by FDA, they are usually sterilized and preserved with alcohol or normal saline at high temperature.
